VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The HUD VASH Case Manager Senior Social Worker position works in a HUD-VASH collaborative program which pairs HUD's Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance with VA case management and supportive services for homeless Veterans.
These services are designed to help homeless Veterans and their families find and sustain permanent housing and access the health care, mental health treatment, substance use counseling and other supports necessary to help them in their recovery process and within their ability to maintain housing in the community. Duties include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership on a team, as part of a workgroup or in a implementing an initiative.
Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed social workers and students. Responsible for training less-experienced staff. Responsible for an administrative aspect of the program, such as voucher utilization, data tracking or facilitating the portability process. Work closely with homeless programs staff at all levels to facilitate knowledge sharing, recommendations for system improvement and assessment of need.
Conduct interviews and assessments for the purpose of program enrollment and to aid in the development of treatment plans. Assist the Veteran with housing placement. Advocate on behalf of the Veterans and their families. Provide community-based, clinical case management and care coordination services at the frequency commensurate the Veteran's stage of case management, clinical needs, and preferences for care.
