Key Responsibilities
The Commitment & Treatment Social Worker is responsible for providing independent comprehensive psychological, psychosocial, referral, placement, and aftercare services to inmates in the Commitment and Treatment Program (CTP). This includes information gathering, problem identification, diagnosis, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation, and/or follow-up.
Provides individual and group psychotherapy independently and with other treatment staff, and provides family therapy as inmates are nearing the completion of treatment. Communicates the results of assessment to institution staff and representatives of the criminal justice system to assist in the overall management of certified and civilly committed sex offenders.
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staffs correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
