This position is located in Region 8. The ideal candidate is an experienced emergency management leader skilled in FEMA Public Assistance (PA), disaster recovery, grant administration, post-award operations, compliance, and closeout. They understand the Stafford Act, PA eligibility, infrastructure recovery, debris management, emergency protective measures, hazard mitigation, financial stewardship, and leading teams to deliver recovery results.
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will serve as a Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery). Typical assignments include: Supporting delivery of the Public Assistance program by applying policies and procedures to damage assessments, disaster surveys, and recovery operations. Meeting with applicants throughout the recovery process to provide guidance on applicable laws, policies, requirements, and available assistance.
Managing recovery projects, including site inspections, damage summaries, assistance requirements, applicant expectations, and project tracking. Coordinating with stakeholders on emergency management activities to support effective communication and program delivery. Participating in public meetings to explain Public Assistance eligibility requirements and answer applicant and community questions. What else do I need to know?
