Provides leadership and management expertise in the design of customer solutions comprised of a wide range of computer system hardware and software products. Establishes and maintains a close working relationship with management officials in various services and staff offices to keep abreast of the information system's needs. Advises Service Chiefs and other high-level managers on organizational goals, objectives, and management strategies.
Manages the execution of all tasks for the acquisition of hardware and/or software necessary to support new initiatives or to provide changes in existing systems/applications. Gives advice, counsel and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Directs the implementation of quality improvement initiatives and establishes quality controls to improve the effectiveness of services provided to all nationwide customers.
Finds and implements ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks to production and improve business practices. Evaluates and acquires productivity improvement tools for application development use and remote customer. This is a Non-Bargaining Unit Position.
