This position is located in VHA's Office of Integrated Veteran Care (IVC), Networks and Contract Management, Veteran and Family Member Programs (VFMP), Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA). The incumbent serves in a management role aligned under the CHAMPVA Program Management Officer and oversees management, budgeting, planning, staff guidance, and interdepartmental coordination.
Serves as technical/operational consultant for CHAMPVA initiatives affecting data management, claims processing, and problem resolution Performs ongoing quantitative and qualitative analysis of claims processing activities and payment methodologies Assists Chief in planning, coordinating, managing, and directing full scope of CHAMPVA operations Assists in development/implementation of CHAMPVA policies and procedures Evaluates programs against short/long-range objectives; reviews controls for defect prevention Coordinates staff training, system changes, and testing with CIO staff Coordinates eligibility/data-matching interfaces with VBA, DoD, DEERS, CMS, SSA Provides statistical analysis to Chief, VFMP Leadership, and Central Office Operates under delegated authority; exercises independent judgment within VA laws/regulations Serves as expert resource on reimbursement methodologies and eligibility determinations Conducts risk/vulnerability assessments; identifies and reports fraud, waste, and abuse Provides full personnel management such as selections, performance standards, discipline, EEO compliance Serves as Acting CHAMPVA Chief in Chief's absence Work Schedule: 8 hour tour between 6:30 a.m.
